How signs are made

Cut vinyl on a substrate

One method of makings signs are using cut vinyl.  Cut vinyl such as Oracal 751 or 3M 3630 for translucent graphics, are a tried and true method to making signs.  You'll typically see this type of vinyl on glass doors or window, and on long-term or backlit signs.  It starts out as a roll of vinyl in various colors.

1. We run the vinyl though a plotter that scores the material with a blade in the shapes we need.

2. Next, we remove the excess in a process called "weeding".  Once we weed the vinyl, we're left with the actual copy that's going to be applied to the sign

3. Now, we need a way to take the vinyl off the liner and transfer it to the sign.  That's where transfer tape comes in!  We apply the transfer tape over the weeded vinyl and trim it to size.

4.Once we place the graphics exactly on the sign and make sure it's straight, we can remove the backer and apply the graphics to the sign board.  The finial step is removing the transfer tape, leaving us with a perfectly applied sign face ready to hand to the customer or install onsite.  We produce signs and install signs all over Texas and Oklahoma.

Digitally Printed Vinyl

Now that we know how cut vinyl signs are produced, we notice there is a limitation on the amount of colors available.  And what if we need 3, 4, 10 colors?  That would take a long time to apply each of those individually and make the signs too expensive.  That's where digital printing come in!  We can take a roll of white vinyl and run it though a grand format digital printer specifically designed for outdoor printing use.  Once it prints whatever image we want on the vinyl, we run it though another machine called a laminator to further protect the printed image from UV sunrays.  Once it's laminated, we can apply it to the sign board similarly as we did the cut vinyl.  Once applied, the sign is finished and ready for install!

Installing Wall Signs

We offer complete installation services of all signs we manufacture.  We have decades of experience installing all kinds of signs.  From wall signs to pole signs, we can do it all.

Monument / Pole Signs

Installing a pole sign starts with permitting.  Once we have the permit, we get utilities located and then the fun can begin!  First we drill the footer according to our engineered specifications.  Once the hole is dug and the dirt is removed, we stand the pole up and call in a concrete truck to deliver and fill the hole. After a few days of curing time, we return and add additional "stages" to the pole to make it taller.  Once all the pole stages have been welded to the correct height, we can now start assembling the sign!  The below video starts are this stage.  We assemble the sign, bolt it together and close it up.
